Staff Development Center
Classes offered by AFT Colorado
Technology is an on-going area requiring staff development. Mimio boards, netbooks, Google Applications, Shout Point, Infinite Campus, Alpine Achievement, Clicker systems, Podcasting, and flip phone use in the classroom are a few areas we are currently training. For more information, please contact Mike Scobee at mscobee@esdk12.org
Data Driven Dialogue is a process of root cause analysis that the staff, administration and board have recently begun training. The process enables educators to look at various data sources and make action plans based on research-based, data driven decision making around student achievement, growth, various survey results and future planning.
Secondary teachers in math, language arts, science and social studies worked on aligning the Colorado Model standards and ESD's essential learnings. This collaborative opportunity allowed these core content teachers the opportunity to begin creating common assessments and grading rubrics. This staff development will continue over the next two years.

Stand Out Math is a supplemental program that helps engage elementary students in better understanding math vocabulary and connecting concepts to movement and song. This program will enhance our current Everyday Mathematics program.
Collaborative Time
Late start on Thursday mornings enables teachers to collaborate on student achievement and growth. Please check individual school building websites for weekly updates on collaboration time.
PBS
Running Creek Elementary has joined Singing Hills Elementary and Elizabeth Middle School as part of the PBS (Positive Behavior Support) program. Check them out as they ROAR with success!
