The Elizabeth Schools Wellness Program is designed to give students the opportunity to participate in physical activity and to make healthy choices throughout the school day. The District Wellness Committee - Actively assists the district in developing the wellness program to include activities and events that promote health and fitness throughout the district. Elizabeth C-1 Health Services addresses the health needs of all students and staff for the Elizabeth School district. Health Services consists of one nurse, who trains school personnel in each building to implement a plan of action to insure the safety of all the students. The District School Nurse office is located at, 676 South Elbert Street, Elizabeth, CO 80107, Phone: (303)646-6730.
All schools have an identified person who is an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP), Health Technician or Office Secretary, who acts in a complimentary role to the professional nurse. The nurse delegates to the health technicians the general safety plans involving basic first aid training and the care of sick children who come to the health office with a health need. The health technicians and office staff are supplied with a Health Guidelines Manual that specifies actions in the instance of various medical situations. |
