District Accountability Committee
In Colorado, it is a statutory requirement for every school district to have a District Accountability Committee (DAC). The DAC provides opportunities for parents and community members to become informed about and to be involved in making recommendations concerning the preparation of the district’s improvement plans (performance, improvement, priority improvement, or turnaround), and cooperatively determining other areas and issues to address recommendations on.
The DAC will advise the Board of Education on whether the district is accredited or accredited with distinction, accredited with improvement, accredited with priority improvement, or accredited with turnaround, concerning preparation of the district performance plan and make recommendations to the Board of Education concerning the contents of the district performance plan.
The DAC will help the Board of Education in defining and measuring academic and safety quality and to expand the life opportunities and options of the students in Elizabeth C-1 Schools.
The DAC reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Education concerning the School Accountability Committee(SAC) plans to adopt the School Improvement Plan (SIP) with goals and objectives for the improvement of education in the school. The DAC, following consultation with the SAC, makes recommendations to the Board of Education relative to the prioritization of expenditures of School District funds. Evening monthly meetings of the DAC are held from 6:30-8:00 pm on the second Wednesday, commencing in September.
